Registration for Spring Baseball

Registration for SOM Recreational League Baseball is now open through January 31. Registration will only take place online through the South Orange Recreation Department catalog.

SOM Baseball Spring Season Information

The SOM Baseball spring recreation baseball program is open to all South Orange and Maplewood children between the ages of 5 and 15 (as of April 30, 2021). Children attending school in Maplewood/South Orange are also eligible to participate. Placement for all players is based on the child’s age as of April 30, 2021, as follows:

• Age 5 – Cal Ripken T-Ball American League
• Age 6 – Cal Ripken T-Ball National League
• Age 7 – Cal Ripken Rookie American League
• Age 8 – Cal Ripken Rookie National League
• Age 9 – Cal Ripken Minor League
• Ages 10 and 11 – Cal Ripken Majors 60
• Age 12 – Cal Ripken Majors 70
• Ages 13 to 15 – Babe Ruth League
