There are many ways to volunteer in our SOM Baseball community! Below is a list of our current needs, beyond coaching, including contact information for each opportunity.
  1. A leader to work with the rec department and baseball committee in making our April baseball parade happen (all ages players)… likely this person will be looking for additional help once we’ve figured out who they are! Watch for a future e-mail with that need. To volunteer for this, e-mail Pam and Peter (e-mails below).
  2. A leader to work with the rec department and baseball committee in making our May/June all-star games happen (players ages 8 and up)… likely this person will be looking for additional help once we’ve figured out who they are!  Watch for a future e-mail with that need. To volunteer for this, e-mail Pam and Peter (e-mails below).
  3. A leader to work with the rec department and baseball committee in making our annual run-hit-pitch competition happen (players ages 8 and up)… likely this person will be looking for additional help once we’ve figured out who they are!  Watch for a future e-mail with that need. To volunteer for this, e-mail Pam and Peter (e-mails below).
  4. Members of our grounds crew, to help groom the fields at Meadowlands between Saturday games. To volunteer for this, e-mail the Facilities subcommittee (facilities.sombaseball@gmail.com).
  5. Helpers at spring clean-up day. Watch for an announcement soon with details about when/where/how to help with this.
  6. Team Managers: help your child’s coaches to send out notes to the team, to count pitches, to keep score, and otherwise corral parents/players for practices and games. To volunteer for this, e-mail your child’s coaches once they’re assigned.
