Seeking two Baseball Committee volunteer leaders
Our baseball program relies on numerous volunteers to successfully operate, in close partnership with the South Orange Recreation department. Today, we are seeking TWO volunteers to join our leadership team on the Baseball Committee.
The first role we need to fill is our Publicity chair. This person is responsible for writing most communications that are sent to our baseball community and posted to our website, as well as maintaining our Instagram and Facebook channels. You don’t need any experience as a coach or player–what we need is clean copy, organization and an eagerness to keep our families informed year-round.
The second role we need to fill is our Sportmanship chair. This individual is responsible for investigating and resolving any formal sportsmanship complaints that arise during the season, as well as helping to set league standards to set a positive and productive tone at our games. Parents of all levels of players are welcome in this role–previous coaching experience is helpful but not required.
Committee members serve as volunteers for a term of three years and attend leadership meetings several times a year, in addition to their own responsibilities.
Both of these roles offer real opportunities to make a substantial difference in the success of our baseball program. We hope you will consider giving your time and talent.
