Coaching volunteers still needed

More volunteers are needed as Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Team Managers, in every division except M70. If you are willing and able, register as a volunteer online today:


–Go to https://secure.rec1.com/NJ/south-orange-village-township-nj/catalog. (This is the S.O. Department of Recreation registration site)
–Log in to your Recreation account (which you have because your child is registered). If you don’t know or remember your login and password, please call the Recreation Dept. for assistance at 973-378-7754, ext. 2.

–In the “catalog”, click on ‘Volunteers’

–Click on ‘SOM Baseball Volunteer’ and enroll

It is important to note that, particularly at the younger ages, you do not need to be a baseball expert to coach. The baseball program offers numerous opportunities to teach coaches the best way to run practices and teach fundamental skills, and our primary goal is to make sure our children are having fun learning the game.
